“Im Gone To Rest”

You wonder why I went away and didn’t say good-bye.

I couldn’t bear to tell you, for it hurt me to cry.

My ship came in the morning, and it was beautiful as could be.

My captain was King Jesus, and He beckoned unto me.

I ran across the leeway and fell down at His feet.

He gently took me in His arms… My rest is now complete.
